Eligible players must have participated in at least 8 of their regular season team’s games as required by Little League Rules. Our Local Rules and Policies, located in the Downloads section of Auburn Little League’s (A.L.L.) website, explain the selection process for All Stars.
A.L.L. has 6 All Star Teams for the following age groups:
• 9/10 yr. All Stars – Any player league age 9 or 10 is a possible candidate.
• 9/10/11 yr. All Stars – Any player league age 9,10 or 11 is a possible candidate.
• Major All Stars – Any player league age 11 or 12 is a possible candidate.
• Intermediate All Stars-Any player league age 12 or 13 is a possible candidate.
• Junior All Stars – Any player league age 13 or 14 is a possible candidate.
• Senior All Stars - Any player league age 14, 15 or 16 is a possible candidate.
Player eligibility will be verified and must be proven to District personnel in order to qualify for the team (i.e. residence/school attendance and age eligibility in particular). Parent commitment is not limited to any one level.
While it is a great honor to be a member of an All Star team, there is also a substantial commitment of time, effort, travel and finances required in order to participate. The All Star season ends whenever tournament competition ends. The goal is for teams to progress as far into tournament play as possible, deploying players and strategy to accomplish this goal by using the Manager’s discretion and experience. Parents/guardians shall support all decisions and strategies set forth by the All Star Manager/Coaches. For the 9/10 and 11 year old, Intermediate, Juniors & Seniors competition, tournament play could continue through the completion of the California State Tournament in late July. For Major League competitions, tournament play could continue through late August when the World Series takes place (Major in Williamsport, PA; Junior in Taylor, MI).
** If selected to an All Star roster, registration for your player including a fee of $85 must be completed/paid online prior to the first All Star practice. **
The All Star time commitment consists of several practices a week for up to three hours beginning around June 5th and then participation in the District 11 All Star tournaments beginning about June 19th and running for about 20 days. Winners will advance as noted above. Players are expected to attend ALL team practices and social activities. All positions on the team and in the lineup are earned based on the Manager’s evaluation.
Parent Participation is REQUIRED when A.L.L. hosts tournament games. A commitment to play means a commitment to assist, even in games in which your child is not playing! All home tournament games are played at Beggs or James Field. Tournament game tasks include snack bar, field preparation, scorekeeping, announcers, and after-game field maintenance.
** If selected to an All Star roster, in addition to the player registration fee of $85, all families will provide a Parent Participation deposit check before players receive their All Star uniform. If the Parent Participation requirement is fulfilled through assistance at A.L.L. hosted tournament games, the deposit check will be destroyed. If Parents DO NOT assist in A.L.L. hosted tournament games, the check will be cashed by A.L.L. Deposit amount will be calculated once we have a final number of All Star players and final number of tournaments we will host.**
It should be clearly understood that acceptance of this commitment is required to participate in Auburn Little League’s All Star program. By submitting your child’s name for consideration for placement on an All Star team, you agree to the above terms and conditions.
